Ixion

The second story in the After Earth Anthology explores the circumstances of the earth as the colony ships such as the Pax Britanica from The Darwin Protocol depart for the stars.

The earth is abandoned.

After the events of the great cataclysm, the earth is unable to support human life. Those with the means have fled
leaving everyone else behind. 

The remainder of humanity fights for survival on their dying world, but for those locked on-board the orbital  prison
Ixion, the abandonment of Earth opens a whole new world of possibilities.
